Abstract

The work is a review of the book Real Challenges of the Brazilian school routine: 22 dilemmas experienced by principals, coordinators and teachers in schools throughout Brazil. The Península Institute, the Singularidades Institute and the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies (DRCLAS), of Harvard University, collaborated for the construction of the work, with Katherine Klippert Merseth, senior professor at Harvard University School of Education as organizer. It is a collection of teaching cases, narratives capable of inspiring reflections on contemporary issues in Education when examining and discussing educational possibilities, as well as contributing to the professional improvement of teachers.

AMANDA RAQUEL RODRIGUES PESSOA, Instituto Federal de Educação Ciência e Tecnologia do Ceará

PhD student in Education at the State University of Ceará. Master in Education from the Federal University of Ceará -UFC, Specialist in School Physical Education from the Integrated Colleges of Patos - PB, Degree in Physical Education from the Regional University of Cariri - URCA. Permanent professor at the Federal Institute of Education, Sciences and Technologies of Ceará. Leader of the Study, Research and Extension Group in Education, Corporeality and Society (GEPEECOS). Collaborating researcher in the Education, School Culture and Society (EDUCAS) Research Group. She has experience in the field of Education and Physical Education in the School, working mainly on the following topics: Teacher Training, School Physical Education, Playfulness, Sports and Leisure.

Isabel Maria Sabino de Farias , UECE/TEACHER

Associate Professor at the Education Center of the State University of Ceará (UECE). Permanent professor of the Graduate Program in Education (PPGE) at UECE (postdoctoral supervisor and doctoral advisor, master's degree, specialization, undergraduate and scientific initiation). Has Post-Doctoral Internship in Education at the University of Brasília (UNB); PhD and Master in Brazilian Education from the Federal University of Ceará (UFC); Specialist in Higher Education Methodology at PUC / MG; Degree in Pedagogy from UECE. Leader of the Education, School Culture and Society research group (EDUCAS) and member of the study and research group Teacher Training and Teaching Practices (FOPPE / UFSC). Coordinator of the Observatory for Professional Development for Teachers and Innovation, which has had various funding (CAPES / OBEDUC, CNPq and FUNCAP). Researcher of projects funded by CNPq (Universal 2018): Research with Beginning Teachers: A study on professional induction, an interinstitutional initiative between UFRJ, UFSC and UECE; and, Processes of induction of beginner teachers in the basic school, network investigation involving 14 IES and linked to PUC / SP. Counselor of the State Education Council of Ceará (2013-2014). Member of the National Association for Graduate Studies and Research in Education (ANPEd), the National Association for the Training of Education Professionals (ANFOPE) and the National Association of Didactics and Teaching Practice (ANDIPE). It integrates the Red de inducción a la docencia (RID), the Red Iberoamericana de Liderazgo y Prácticas Educativas (RILPE) and the Interregional North, Northeast and Midwest Network on Teaching in Basic and Higher Education (RIDES). He has been dedicated to studies and research on professional development of teachers, innovation and teaching in Basic Education and Higher Education.
