Open call for proposals for Roteiro thematic sections selection process - 2021/2022

Roteiro (ISSN 2177-6059 and Qualis Capes A2), a scientific journal edited by the faculty of the Graduate Program in Education of the Universidade do Oeste de Santa Catarina (Unoesc), invites researchers to submit proposals for thematic sections.

 

1 GENERAL GUIDELINES

1.1 Proposals for a thematic section must be submitted through the Roteiro website by May 31, 2020, under the link “Thematic Section Proposal”.

1.2 Proposals must be submitted in .doc or .docx format.

1.3 The submitted proposals will undergo a selection process organized and coordinated by the Editorial Board of Roteiro.

1.4 Four proposals will be selected and their publication will take place in a single issue of Roteiro, either in 2021 or 2022, according to their ranking order on the selection process.

1.5 Results will be published on the Roteiro website by June 30, 2020.

1.6 Schedule for the submission of papers comprising the approved thematic sections will be announced to proponents after the publication of results. Papers for the first single issue shall be submitted within seventy days from the date of publication of results.

 

2 GUIDELINES FOR THE THEMATIC SECTION PROPOSAL

2.1 The proponent/organizer of the thematic section must be linked to a graduate program in the area of Education, and may be the author or co-author of no more than one paper in the entire proposal.

2.2 Proposals shall consist of, at least, ten scientific papers articulating a theme, a methodology and/or a theory between them, and make a relevant and original contribution to the field of education, with a focus on educational policies and processes.

2.3 Additionally, proposals must include the review of a book published within the last two years on the theme and an interview with a recognized expert in the field.

2.4 Proposals must present the following information of the proponent/organizer: full name, e-mail, link to Lattes/CNPq curriculum vitae and ORCID number.

2.5 Proposals are required to present information in the following order: title, presentation, objectives and the abstract of each paper.

2.6 Abstracts of papers, reviews and interviews are required to present information in the following order: title, authors' names, institutional affiliation, job title, link to Lattes/CNPq curriculum vitae, ORCID number, abstract and keywords. Abstract formatting must comply with the requirements of Roteiro Authors’ Guidelines.

2.7 Each article can have a maximum of three authors, who must preferably participate in research groups. At least one of the authors is required to have a PhD degree. Papers authored or co-authored by undergraduate/graduate students or experts shall not be accepted.

2.8 The thematic section must comprise at least eight papers by the end of the selection process for due publication.

2.9 Proposals must embrace a diverse distribution of national and foreign authors as well as of teaching or research institutions. It must include at least three regions of the country. Additionally, it must include at least two papers by authors affiliated to foreign institutions and must not have more than two articles by authors affiliated to the same institution.

2.10 While the selection process is running, the proposal cannot be submitted to any other journal.

 

3 PROPOSAL SELECTION CRITERIA

3.1 The Editorial Board of Roteiro has freedom to select proposals, and is committed to disclose the accepted proposals on its website.

3.2 Proposals that do not comply with the abovementioned guidelines will be disregarded.

3.3 Contribution, originality of discussion and impact regarding the distribution of authors by regions and countries will be regarded in the selection process.

3.4 Proposals including papers written in a foreign language (English, Spanish or French) shall be given priority.

 

4 PROPONENT RESPONSIBILITIES REGARDING THE ACCEPTED THEMATIC SECTION

4.1 To act as editor of the thematic section during the assessment and editing process.

4.2 To prescreen all submissions on their suitability to Roteiro’s scope, on the theme of the section, as well as compliance with Roteiro Authors’ Guidelines.

4.3 To keep in contact with Roteiro editors, ensuring that the publishing process is carried out in compliance with the pre-established schedule and commitments.

4.4 To take responsibility for writing the presentation of the thematic section.

4.5 To widely disseminate the thematic section to bring visibility to their contribution.

 

Exceptions to the regular schedule of Roteiro shall be assessed by the Editorial Board.
