Objective: To identify the epidemiological profile of cases of Hepatitis B (HB) in the city of Goiânia and propose interventions that reduce the incidence of the disease. Materials and Methods: This is a cross-sectional epidemiological descriptive study, which evaluated the epidemiological profile of HB through data obtained from the Notifiable Diseases Information System (SINAN), referring to the city of Goiânia-GO, from 2016 to 2020. Subsequently, a systematized review was carried out on the subject in the Pubmed bibliographic base, in order to support the elaboration of intervention proposals. Results: From the data collection, it was noticed the predominance of HB in men (61.3%) and in the age group 20-59 years (83%); in addition to a percentage of 85.7% of forms filled in as “unknown/blank” in relation to the sources or mechanisms of infection. The interventions addressed diagnosis, prophylaxis and, mainly, the population's knowledge about vaccination and forms of transmission of the disease. Discussion: When considering the evaluated epidemiology and the review of actions related to the disease, the need for an intervention in the municipality associated with the dissemination of health information, serological screening, vaccination of the population and prophylactic measures was perceived. Conclusion: Based on epidemiological data on HB in Goiânia and the systematic review, it is noted, in addition to training to improve the filling in of notification forms, the need for a municipal HB program in the city to reduce cases and associated morbidity the disease.
