PREVALÊNCIA DE DOR DURANTE A EXECUÇÃO DO TRATAMENTO ENDODÔNTICO REALIZADO PELOS ALUNOS DO COMPONENTE CURRICULAR PREVENÇÃO TERAPÊUTICA DA POLPA DENTÁRIA II, DO CURSO DE ODONTOLOGIA DA UNOESC JOAÇABA
Resumo
A maioria dos estudos sobre dor ocorrida durante a realização do tratamento endodôntico se
refere à sintomatologia após a conclusão da terapia. O objetivo do presente estudo foi avaliar a
ocorrência de dor durante todas as fases do tratamento endodôntico realizadas pelos acadêmicos
do componente curricular Prevenção Terapêutica da Polpa Dentária II, do primeiro semestre
de 2013 do Curso de Odontologia da Universidade do Oeste de Santa Catarina de Joaçaba, por
meio da aplicação de um questionário previamente testado para esse fim. Vale ressaltar que
quase metade (41,2%) dos pacientes avaliados relatou dor leve, não houve relato de dor intensa,
e dos pacientes acometidos com dor, nenhum necessitou usar medicação sistêmica para controlar
a sintomatologia. Esse resultado pode ser considerado bom, posto que este é o primeiro
contato dos acadêmicos com pacientes para tratamento endodôntico.
